Women’s Self Defense Upcoming Seminars
Summer Class date posted below for the young Ladies heading off to College. Parents, give your daughter the gift of Self Defense before sending her off to school. This class is tailored especially for girls in this age group with self defense techniques to cover any uncomfortable situation they may find themselves in while away. Sharon will also discuss the common things to look out for and other scenarios that could lead to sexual assault. Knowledge and Awareness are the first tools a woman needs to defend herself properly.
ANY woman of any age (Adult or Student) can take this course. It is just tailored a little more to the young ladies heading off to college, but anyone from 12-100 can take this course. The “Off to College” class is equivalent to a Level 1, but will have some techniques from the Level 2 that are important for the girls heading off on their own for the first time (or heading back) to learn in order to defend themselves.
Also Level 2 is this Sunday May 20, 2012. I do not have Level 2 classes as often as the Level 1 course. Please take this opportunity to learn more common scenarios and self defense techniques to arm yourself against an attacker. Level 2 is NOT a more detailed version of Level 1. In Level 2 I will be covering scenarios that deal with the type of attackers you may be more familiar with. Situations that could start off friendly and even in fun, but then turn forceful or even violent. I will be covering techniques that I call the “uncomfortable hugs” and how to escape the mount (if someone is sitting on top of you). This is also a more likely situation in a home evasion scenario as well. I’ve recently overheard some women talking about the Level 2 wondering if it was like the Level 1. This is why I am clarifying in this post that it is NOT like the Level 1. I try to keep the techniques with similar endings grouped together so it is easier to learn. That is why there are 2 classes. Also, if time permits, I will cover at least 1 knife defense from the “worse case scenario” position from Level 1.

This seminar is particularly for young ladies heading off to school for the first time or those who have missed my seminars in the past. The techniques are the same as Level 1 with some techniques catering specifically for this age group. In the past this has been a thrown together at the last minute seminar to accommodate worried parents. This year I’m beating them to the punch and adding it into my schedule so the date is set and they can work out theirs so their daughters, sisters, cousins, etc can attend. There will be no alternative dates. If any young lady has already taken this course and would like to retake it or who has taken a Level 1 and would like to take this one too the fee is only $10.00 and Free if you bring a paying registrant. Re-take attendee number is limited to 10 so there is room for new students. Please register or have your friend who you are bringing register asap.

Lastly:
6-8 Week Weapons Defense Self Defense Course
I am hoping to add a 6-8 week course in the Fall to women interested in learning weapons defense, but weapons defense cannot be taught nor learned in a 1 day seminar. These techniques need a lot of repetition and practice. Timing is the most important as well as knowing what to do if attacked with a weapon. 17% of attacks are done with a weapon. Gun defense is the most dangerous and the hardest to learn. Even though gun defense has the least amount of steps compared to the knife/baton defenses, but harder to learn because of the timing aspect. If you are interested in taking a 6-8 week course please email me using the side bar to contact me letting me know you are interested. I need at least 5 women to register to have this class. Registration information will be posted over the summer as well as potential dates. This class will meet 2x a week. One in the morning/weekend and one class in the evening/weeknight. The lessons will be the same each in each class of that week, but the 2 classes will be offered to give options to the attendees as well the chance to take both for the repetition. I cannot stress enough the importance of taking as many classes as possible to learn weapons defense. There are a lot of techniques and a lot of steps. I want my students to walk away confident and more importantly, knowing how to do each technique as if it were a natural reaction. I would recommend that those who wish to register for the Weapons Defense Course take Level 1 and Level 2. This will prepare the women with the basics of each technique and familiarize the students with the positions. I say 6-8 week course because the first 2 weeks will be covering Level 1 and Level 2 like my seminars. The two classes the first 2 weeks will be mandatory to learn all the techniques from the Level 1 and 2. If you have already taken the Level 1 & 2 you do not need to attend the first 2 weeks.
The 8 week course will be $350.00 per person. If you had already taken the Level 1 & 2 I will deduct the amount you paid for your Level 1 &2 from the $350.00 and you will have the option to join in the first 2 weeks as a refresher. Those who have not taken any of the Levels will be required to take the full 8 weeks. Students will receive a 10% discount from the final price. I do have the participation forms from all past attendees and the dates will let me know the price you paid. When you contact me about registering I will let you know what your final price will be for the seminar. The 8 week course will start the last week of September (potentially Sept 23 – Sunday) and the final week will be the week of Thanksgiving in November. If you are only attending the 6 week course the first week for that will be potentially October 7, 2012 (Sunday). This is not a final date and I am open to suggestions. I will try to be as accomadating dating as possible, but it is hard to please everyone. I am putting out the potential dates now so you can find the time. I know September is a busy month for those with Children so the end of the month should be enough time to get things sorted. In order to end the course before the Holidays start I will need to start no later than September 23rd though. So even though these are potential dates they are most likely going to be the set dates. Everything will be confirmed by August 1st though and registration will be open then. Registration will end 1 week before the classes are to begin.
Taking a Women’s Self Defense class is the BEST Investment you could make for yourself and your personal safety.
It’s too easy to say, “I’ll go to the next one.” If you keep putting it off how do you know it will not be too late. You don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you are wishing you had taken the self defense class. Find the time or make the time for only 3 hours of a day to learn some techniques. It could save your life one day. It could prevent years of emotional and psychological suffer. Your life for 3 hours.
No one likes to believe they will need to learn self defense, but at the same time every woman knows that she probably should. People have a false sense of security when they think they live in a good neighborhood just because it looks nice. Crime happens everywhere and “Attackers” are not always some strange creepy looking guy. They could be your next door neighbor.
Learning how to defend yourself by taking a Self Defense Class is one of the best gifts you could give yourself or a loved one.
It is 3 hours of a single day as opposed to not knowing how to defend yourself and becoming a victim of years (possibly the rest of your life) of heart ache, fear, depression, and maybe even your life. Being a victim of a sexual assault crime is not easy and it is not easy for those who love us because they see the pain you are in and have no idea how to help you.
From her own personal experience, Sharon understands the urgency for women to learn how to defend themselves. All women know they should learn, but it’s so easy to put off. It’s easy to believe it will not happen to YOU. Crime happens everywhere. It happens in public, during the day, in work places, in the stereo typical places, good areas, bad areas, friends and family’s homes, and in your own home.
Sharon wants women to learn her Self Defense Program so much that she is willing to offer you a Money Back Guarantee.
- 100% Money Back Guarantee if you do not feel you learned any techniques that could save your life
- 100% Money Back Guarantee if you do not walk away feeling more confident about fighting off an attacker
- 100% Money Back Guarantee if you feel I did not live up to my word and teach you how to defend yourself
- 100% Money Back Guarantee if you feel what I show you is crap.
- 100% Money Back Guarantee if you just did not like Sharon’s Class.
Here’s what you have to do:
take the seminar, practice the techniques taught during the class, work with Sharon in the class, work with the “attacker” if you want (this is optional – see details below), and if you are not satisfied after taking the seminar with Sharon simply ask her right then and there for your money back.
About the Women’s Self Defense Class:
Self Defense for Women is and should be different than self defense for men . Attacks against women are different because our body’s are also at stake. This self defense course will cover basic scenarios of sexual assault, abduction and violence. I will be talking about safety information as well as scenarios of when/where/why attacks can happen. You will learn how to use your strengths to fight off an attacker to escape. This Self Defense class will also cover scenarios closer to a date rape type of scenario which is more common for young women heading off to school.
Sharon’s classes highlight the difference between self defense courses for men and women. When a man attacks a man, he either wants his money or his life. When a man attacks a woman, he either wants her money, her life OR HER BODY. The nature of the conflict is, by definition, hugely different. The size and strength difference is huge between a man and a woman, therefore necessitating a drastic change in strategy from the normal self defense courses available out there to women. A Woman should not attempt to fight directly into the “strengths” of the man who is attacking her. That’s not silly or flawed; it is a smart strategy for anyone.
Sharon’s Women’s Self Defense Classes are non-martial art techniques. Sharon’s Self Defense System was developed from real life scenarios and past victims accounts. The system is also based on the memory aspect of participants from reports after past seminars. Sharon’s Self Defense Classes are designed so every woman, regardless of age, size, and strength can do and complete the techniques taught. It is also made so women walk away remembering the techniques they are taught in the class.
The Women’s Self Defense Program is for women from ages 14 and up. The program is easy and fun to do, but more important, easy to remember. The techniques in Sharon’s Self Defense course are minimalistic with maximum efficiency. The techniques taught are effective and can be done in a few steps so the women can remember them when they leave. Sharon makes sure she works with every woman at the Seminar with every technique taught to ensure they are doing it properly and to answer any questions they may have.
At the Seminar you will receive handouts containing (1) basic safety information, (2) 6 basic self defense principles and (3) a summary of the techniques you learn, plus more.
Lastly, and what makes this Self Defense Seminar unique and a lot of fun on top of the learning environment, the women will have a chance to work with an “attacker.” There will be a male “attacker” for the participants to try out their new skills. After each set of different techniques the women will get to try out and practice what they just learned without having to “pretend” to do the moves. The participants will get to use their new techniques for real. The “attacker” will be padded and the women do not have to worry about injuring anyone. This is the safest way for you to try out the new techniques and skills learned during the seminar. Each person will be given plenty of opportunities to work with the “attacker.” This will also help the participants to remember the techniques further because you will not forget this experience. It is optional so if anyone is uncomfortable they do not have to do this segment of the seminar, but it is recommended. The
Wear something comfortable to move around. We will be working on the mats so no shoes, but you can wear socks. Space is limited so please register early.
